VETERINARY REQUIREMENTS FOR DOGS OF FOREIGN PARTICIPANTS
For all foreign participants who will pass through the Finland, we recommend to cross the border through the checkpoint "Vartius - Lyttä" (Kuhmo town in Finland, Kostomuksha in RF), which is located 160 km from the township Kalevala.
FOR TRANSPORTATION YOUR DOGS TO RUSSIA YOU NEED:
1. International veterinary certificate (blue) for each dog.
2.The microchip with the mark (barcode) in veterinary passport for each dog.
3.Rabies vaccination. Importation is allowed not earlier than 14 days after vaccination (latest date vaccination February 21, 2014).
(Please note, if you previously did not have a dog chip, rabies shot is made only after installing the chip. If on the contrary, your dog should again be vaccinated against rabies and the import is allowed not earlier than 30 days after the vaccination.)
4. 1-2-3-4-5 for days before leaving your country of residence, you must obtain a certificate in veterinary station that you get out of a country with prosperous epidemiological conditions.
5. According to the veterinary requirements of Russian import of dogs you should not have additional documents to a maximum of two (2) dogs at one (1) person.
To import a larger number of dogs per person you need special permission.
This permission is made by the race organizers.
To obtain a special permit you need to send at kalevala2011@mail.ru a copy of the international veterinary passports for all dogs (a copy of the first page and a copy of the page with a note about vaccination against rabies). This permission will be sent by race Organizers to your e-mail. You need to print this permission and bring it with you when you will cross the border.
If you have in your team a dog that does not belong to you, then to transport this dog to Russia the owner of this dog should give you a letter of attorney in manuscript form, without notarization.
2. According to the veterinary requirements of Russia you can import dog food only in original sealed packing of 5 kg per person. Taking into account these requirements, Race Organizers takes orders from the participants on the dog food (Royal Canin Energy and / or - chicken set.) in necessary for you amount.
 
IF FINLAND IS A TRANSIT-COUNTRY TO RUSSIA:

2. In the case of transit through Finland rabies shot must be made not later - 21 days from the date of vaccination (February 13, 2014).
3. In case you are in a country of transit for more than 5 days to enter to Russia, you will need a certificate from the transit-country  vet.station that you leave the country with a prosperous epidemiological conditions.
 
TO LEAVE WITH DOGS FROM RUSSIA TO EU:
1. One (1) day before you departure from Russia (March 16, 2014) the dog / s is necessary to give the drug to echinococcosis. This drug can be brought or purchased at the Russian vet.station. Veterinary team of Race «KALEVALA» supervises the process of the drug and mark it in vet.passports.
We will keep on the emergence of new / additional veterinary requirements for import / export of dogs.
Race organizers will help you with visas, special permits, etc. according of your application from submitted no later than February 1, 2014.
